KNOCK DOWN REBUILD: RUBY GOES UP
Construction of Homestead Homes’ latest luxury home, the ‘Ruby‘ is on track. The ‘Ruby’ is located in Roma Road, St Ives, an established street close to schools and parks and with easy access to Mona Vale Road, making it ideal for growing families.
Following pouring of the pool and house foundations, the ground floor frame was erected and steel supports placed via crane. Balancing the crane is the first important step, allowing the crane to reach the length and depth of the house. The steel supports allow for a more open floor plan on the first floor. The first floor frames were then erected. House frames require very strong timber as well as load-bearing steel posts to support the weight of the second floor frame and brickwork.
The Homestead team are now ready to start the brick-laying next week. As ‘Ruby’ is a double story home, the ground floor bricks will be laid, then scaffolding erected to complete the brickwork on the first floor.
Double storey homes can be ideal for growing families, as they offer better separation of living areas for parents and children. Double storey homes also allow families to maximise the living space on a small or narrow lot whilst leaving room for a good-sized backyard and swimming pool.
