This Lane Cove duplex was completed by Homestead Homes in early 2013, and the satisfied owners are now enjoying their luxury home as well as earning an income from their investment property next door.
The three storey Alpha Road duplex was custom designed by the owner’s architect, and is located close to schools, shops and with easy access to Longueville Road. Both dwelling are substantially larger than an average duplex, with one home having five bedroom plus study and the other home having four bedrooms plus study. Each home has a double garage and a substantial courtyard, with the owner’s home also including a pool.
The block, whilst larger than an average home site, was relatively steep, with a slope of 2 ½ -3 metres from back to front. The site required significant excavation to remove rock to accommodate the garages for both homes.
Once the brickwork was completed, the duplexes were rendered in contrasting shades, giving the owners a greater choice of colours and creating a more modern finish than plain brickwork.
