This stunning Sandringham home in southern Sydney was completed by Homestead Homes in early 2013. Homestead worked closely with the architect to bring the home owner’s initial sketches to life, designing a luxury lifestyle home for this long, narrow block near Botany Bay.
The location is perfect for the owners and their family, being close to parks and an easy walk to the shores of Botany Bay. Many of the older bungalows in this established area have been knocked down and rebuilt to accommodate the needs of modern families and capitalise on the great location.
The two-storey family home was designed to include four bedrooms plus a study, and to capture the coastal breezes. This proximity to the water resulted in the excavations for the underground water tanks being slightly waterlogged, however this was quickly overcome and the water tanks situated under the driveway as planned.
Following completion of the brickwork, the home was rendered, giving the owners a greater choice of colours than plain brickwork. In keeping with many of the homes in the area, the owner selected a white finish, contrasting with the bold garage door and woodwork and the green outdoor spaces.
